This ELM327 based OBD2 interface cable arrives packed into a small grip-seal plastic bag alongside a mini CD containing the drivers needed for a few different windows versions. I loaded the disc up on my ancient laptop designated for working with stuff like this, and the provided drivers worked just fine on Windows 8.I did run into some complaints and compatibility issues from MULTIECUSCAN and that sent me down the rabbit hole of finding out what was wrong with this particular ELM327 clone. I had to actually open it up and desolder a SMD resistor to get it to be fully compatible. I've shared an image of the inside of the unit and outlined the exact resistor I removed. Though I'd recommend trying the interface first to see if it’ll work without modifying anything as the CAN network on some models of car have no issue with these clone ELM327 interfaces.After that unexpected fix was taken care of, it worked flawlessly in conjunction with MULTIECUSCAN and a yellow adapter on a MK2 KA that needed a proxi-alignment. I get that you can’t expect perfection at £15.29 and I was fairly sure this wasn’t going to be a genuine ELM327 interface. But potential customers shouldn’t really need to modify the product to get it to work fully, even if it’s a relatively simple mod. That 120ohm resistor is a common issue on all of these generic ELM327 clones, so unless you’re willing to spend the extra money on a guaranteed genuine interface, it’s something you may or may not have to deal with.

Excellent produit et très facile à utiliser

Ich hab mir den ELM 327 OBD2 USB Adapter geholt, weil bei meinem Ford Mondeo MK4 ständig die Motorkontrollleuchte anging, und ich wollte endlich selbst mal nachsehen, was da los ist. Der Adapter kam schnell an und war ordentlich verpackt – CD mit Software war auch dabei, wobei ich lieber eine aktuellere Version aus dem Internet genommen hab.Der Anschluss war total einfach: USB rein, Software starten und ab an die OBD2-Buchse unter dem Lenkrad. Schon konnte ich Fehler auslesen und sogar ein paar versteckte Einstellungen am Auto freischalten (hab z.B. das globale Öffnen der Fenster aktiviert – mega praktisch im Sommer 😅). Auch kleinere Probleme wie ein falscher Sensorwert ließen sich dadurch gut eingrenzen.Was mir besonders gefallen hat, ist die Stabilität der Verbindung – nix hat gehakt oder ist abgestürzt, und die Kommunikation mit dem Steuergerät war blitzschnell. Man merkt, dass hier der gute PIC18F25K80 Chip drin steckt – kein billiger Nachbau.Zwei kleine Minuspunkte gibts trotzdem:Die beigelegte Software auf der CD ist leider ziemlich veraltet und auf Englisch – wer sich da nicht auskennt, könnte erstmal etwas überfordert sein.Der Adapter wird bei längerem Gebrauch recht warm, nicht heiß, aber man merkt's schon. Bisschen bessere Wärmeableitung wär hier wünschenswert gewesen.Insgesamt bin ich aber mega zufrieden. Endlich kann ich bei Problemen am Auto selber checken, was los ist, ohne gleich in die Werkstatt zu müssen. Für alle Ford-Fahrer mit bisschen Technik-Interesse absolut empfehlenswert

Da ich sehr neugierig bin wasdas Wissen über mein Auto angeht, habe ich mir diesen OSBII Adapter mit USB-Anschluss mal bestellt. Bisher hatte ich OSBII Adapter welche über Bluetooth oder WIFI funktionierten, diese funktionieren aber nur bedingt bei der Fahrt oder man muss abstriche machen und auf andere Funktionen verzichten. Da ich aber nicht uf andere Funktionen verzichten möchte habe ich jetzt diese Verindung gewählt bei der das Radio permanet mit einander verbunde sind ohne das die Bluetoothverbindung oder Wifi Verbindung blockiert sind. Die OBDII-App, von der es sehr viele gibt, kann so immer auf den Adapter zugreifen wenn man es möchte ohne das andere Verbindungen darunter leiden. Es kommt ein bischen auf die Leistung des Radios an um mehrere Appˋs laufen zu lassen aber es ist möglich . Für mich ist dieser Adapter eine bessere Lösung als ein Wifi-Adapter weshalb ich ihn auch sehr empfehlen kann.

I've used a similar device a few years ago on a previous car and this is very similar in it's operation and quality, once the program is setup on a suitable laptop and communication is established with the vehicle you are able to change various settings within the cars control modules, some I've changed are the get you home lights time before they turn off, activating the sat nav using an aftermarket SD card and changing what the key fob lock button does with regards to opening/closing all the windows.One thing I will say about using this to change any settings on your car is it is very important to make a backup save file of your current settings BEFORE you do any changes as it's very easy to change something the car then doesn't like and you can actually stop certain critical systems from functioning if you do something wrong and you may not know how to reset it or change it back to how it was before but a save file can undo any mistakes and get you back to factory settings so to speak. If you're at all unsure about what you need to change there are many video tutorials available with a quick search that give invaluable information from users that have worked on the configuration system before.
