Our Friesian horse has a hoof abscess, our field is very wet and muddy at the moment, but she wants to go out with the other horses. Now I've finished poulticing I tried the usual nappy, vet wrap and duck tape, but it didn't last long and hoof was getting wet. I bought a blue one of these that lasted 2 days before leaking. This has been on 5 days now (only day time, she is stabled in the evening). I found the best option was nappy and vet wrap in the stable then add the boot for when she goes out in the field.At about £20, still cheaper to use a few of these than the vets bills. Had something similar made for our shire horse a few years ago, didn't last a day and that cost £50. Still wish the bottom had a thicker sole to last a bit longer before leaking. Might try gluing something onto the blue one.Great size for our horse, but probably to big for your thoroughbreds and ponies.

It’s basically a dry bag, with a foam pad at the bottom. My horse had an abscess and so I used it as directed to turn him out for a few hours and it broke straight away. It is most definitely not fit for the purpose that it’s advertised.The bag ripped and it will not stay on unless it’s tapped over the top.
