I purchased this Yooreal temperature gauge to install in my 2014 Arctic Cat XF 8000 snowmobile. It is working perfectly in this application. I had originally installed a red LED display KOSO style gauge, also purchased on Amazon, but found the display mostly unreadable during the day time due to a combination of the bright sun hitting the display, and the colour of my goggle lens tints mostly obscuring the red LEDs. If I stopped and took my goggles off I could clearly see that gauge, or once the sun went down it was easily visible, but for most of my riding the gauge was simply unreadable. So being happy with the function of an aftermarket gauge, but not with the visibility of the LED version, I looked at this Yooreal as a possible replacement. This Yooreal gauge has an LCD style display, with LED backlight, so I was hoping the display would be more visible. As it turns out I was right, and this gauge is far more visible in all conditions, even when using my polarized goggle lenses which typically makes video screens and many digital displays unreadable. I've been very happy with this gauge so far. It comes with a standard 1/8" NPT threaded temperature sensor. I asked the seller if the gauge would work with my existing KOSO temp sensor and they replied that it would, but when I received this gauge package I found the wire connector to be a 3 wire fitting, due to this Yooreal gauge having an RPM function as well as temperature, so the connector would not work with the 2-wire connector on my existing sensor. I could have cut and spliced the wires, but decided to simply replace the KOSO sensor with the Yooreal sensor instead. The old KOSO gauge was powered by a wired connection to a power supply from the sled, whereas this Yooreal gauge is powered by a single 2032 button cell lithium battery. I was a little concerned about how well a small battery would work in our frigid -30 Celsius riding conditions, but after 2 months of riding, maybe 10 rides or so, in temps from -30C to +4C, the original battery is still working fine, so I'm impressed so far. I haven't had to use the backlight much yet as I do very little night riding so can't say how much that may affect the battery life, but during day riding the display is very clear and visible without needing to activate the backlight. If you're looking to monitor your powersports engine temps with more than a bar gauge, or even worse, with an over-temp idiot light, this Yooreal gauge is a great option and seems to track water temp changes quickly. I haven't checked accuracy at running temperatures independently against another gauge, but when starting up, the ambient temp it shows has been accurate both against known shop temperatures, or outdoor weather temps. I would highly recommend both this gauge and the seller if you're looking for a water temp gauge like this, and can confirm that it even works fine for snowmobile applications. If starting from scratch you would probably need to buy the appropriately sized coolant hose adapter to mount on your sled and to insert the temp sensor into, but these are also available for sale on Amazon here; ( ) .
