Purchased to replace a weak key lock on a metal postbox. Our postman had broken it by ramming a large, stiff envelope into the letterbox which blew the lock cylinder out of its hole! With suitable drill bits this was easy to attach, adjustable to finesse the fit and it holds the postbox securely shut even when stuffed with catalogues. You do need to make sure the clasp will work on the angle you have between the lid and the side of whatever you're attaching it to - mine was greater than 90 degrees, but by placing the hook at the very edge of the lid it works fine. Obviously not as secure as a key lock, but in my experience these are easily broken anyway if someone really wants to steal your post. Have to find a use for the second one in the packet...
