As a replacement for the originals, they seem fine. I can't tell any difference in sound, even though these have a thin foam screen. Lots of folks cut these off on replacement pads because there is already one on the headphone. Like I said, I couldn't tell a difference, and I listened to mono music with one old pad and one new. YMMVAs far as installation, one went on reluctantly. It shows a tendency to come off, after not really wanting to go on. It'll stay, but I don't know if I'll always have to keep fiddling with it. Also, it does say "memory foam" in at least one place. The foam is a little thicker than the original, but if it's memory foam, it's, like, Tapeworm memory foam. Basically the same as the original. If you're looking for an actual upgrade, keep looking. These are very similar.

TL;DR: Decent sounding, but the earpads don't clip in very securely on my Edition XX and Edition X v2. Also, they do not retain the same sound signature of genuine Hifiman UltraPads, so if you are looking for a direct replacement, these aren't it.NOTE: This review is from my perspective of using them on Edition XX and Edition X v2 which uses the UltraPad (has a dust filter) as the stock pad. They will likely behave differently on other or newer models that use the SerenityPad (no dust filter).PROs:-Decent construction. Materials/stitching/etc. feel fine and don't have any major defects.-Much more affordable than the real UltraPad from Hifiman-They look nice, but a trained eye would be able to tell they aren't stock since Hifiman uses shinier pleather for the sides.-Includes a dust screen to protect the driver from debris. Newer egg-shaped Hifiman headphones that use the SerenityPad have the dust filter built into the cup assembly, but older models like my Edition XX and Edition X v2 do not, so the inclusion of a dust filter is appreciated. It's easier to cut out the dust filter if you don't want/need it than to add dust filters to earpads that don't have any (I know because I've done it).-Foam is nice and soft (not memory foam)-They include a guitar pick style pry tool which is handy for releasing the clips on the old earpads-These don't ruin the sound signature (on my XX and X v2, at least) and I actually think they sound clearer and less congested than stock pads (but I prefer sound signatures with less ear gain, especially around 3khz, so YMMV). So, if you don't care for the stock sound, aren't super picky and/or use EQ, these are a viable option.CONs:-They don't clip in very securely. Since they seem a little undersized you have to fiddle and twist them to get all the clips to make contact with the mounting ring and even then they can be dislodged easily. Usable if you are careful or use some BluTack/2 sided tape, but annoying nonetheless.-If you are looking for the same sound signature as the stock earpads, these aren't it. They have quite a bit less ear gain (~-4db between 2-4khz) and less upper treble (7-10khz). They actually sound closer to some velour pads I have rather than the stock UltraPad, but I prefer the velours overall since in addition to the lower ear gain region, they retain more of the upper treble like the stock pad with a slightly less elevated lower midrange (300-900hz).Other thoughts:Sound-wise I could definitely live with these, especially since I don't really care for the stock UltraPad on my Edition XX and X v2, but the fact that they don't clip in securely is a bit of a downer. But ultimately, since I prefer the sound of my velour pads (knock off Dekoni velour), these will be kept as spares rather than daily them.
