If you have a 17 inch HP it will just barley fit. Had to cut off the side edge off the padding in the sides for it to fit. And was not able to use the thick padding piece. Disappointed but will make it work.UPDATED: Seller was extremely nice and while not asked or even expected gave me a full refund for my order since it did not work for my laptop. I would highly recommend this seller and will for sure would order from them again. Thank you for the great customer service, it is much appreciated.

Well, this is the first packing box I have ever owned that has come with a manual! This will have many possible uses from the suggested Laptop through to anything slimline and in need of protection. I was thinking networking / comms equipment (though be warned this back will not fit any 19" rack equipment), DVD players and the like. It's quite flexible having a padded inset area of around 37.5cm long and 26cm wide (this is just smaller than the box itself). It then comes with a larger padded slab that can be cut down to size. Finally, if required, it has a top slab with a cut-out 20cm x 20cm compartment for things like cables, chargers, remotes, screws, manuals etc. to keep them separately packed.Value wise, I do think it is a little on the expensive side (hence -1 star). Maybe a good investment if you were transporting your own equipment and re-using, but then again if you did not have any suitable packing for an expensive item, maybe this is perfect for single use also, if a little on the pricey side.

Advertised as capable of carrying a 17" laptop is a bit of a push to be honest. It will take most 17" laptops, but you likely have to cut the foam really quite close to the edges to get it to accommodate it. Also if you have a slightly older laptop with a wider screen bezel it will be an even tighter squeeze. The box itself is decent quality actually. The foam too. When people buy a laptop, the box it comes in barely every gets noticed, but they do cost the manufacturer money to produce. They're made with a good grade of cardboard and suitable foam to protect the cargo in transit. They cost money to make and supply. This is a perfectly adequate box for the intended use. The cardboard, foam and even the carry handle are all pretty good. I ship a lot of computer hardware all over the place, Europe mostly, so I get to see shipping consumables. This genuinely isn't bad quality. I'd use it for my own devices quite happily.

I’ve used a lot of laptop shipping boxes over the years, and this one is solid — especially at the price point. The cardboard is high quality, the included foam feels protective, and the carrying handle is a nice touch you don’t see on every box. That said, the instruction booklet made me laugh. It’s printed on premium paper, folds out like a small map, and walks you through the grand journey of putting foam into a box. A notecard would’ve done the job - nothing about this required a full manual (the back is just blank as well). It's a bit of a waste. As for the actual packing materials: the “cut to fit” foam insert works, but it’s a bit too thick in my opinion. Most laptops aren’t THAT chunky, and using the insert as-is would have left very little room between the bottom of the laptop and the box itself (there's a thin layer of foam that didn't quite feel good enough). I ended up cutting the excess foam in half after fitting the length and width, and used the extra as extra padding underneath the laptop - which I think should’ve been built in from the start. There’s also no extra foam for the top compartment to secure a charger or accessories, but again, you can use some of the DIY scraps to fill that space. It’s not perfect out of the box, but with some small tweaks, it becomes a very functional shipping solution. For the asking price of right around $20, it’s still a good value - and I feel confident my laptop will arrive safely when I send it off this week. Just don’t expect a perfect plug-and-play experience.

I was looking for a good sturdy box like this for my laptop, and this is super-substantive. I love that it has a handle on it like a suitcase, and there is a generous foam surround for electronics; it feels very safe and reliable for delicate equipment. The cardboard is thick and rigid, and the box would serve as a secure storage or transport box for any breakable or small items. It can hold the weight of many pounds of paper, too, so if you collect a particular magazine or you want to categorize your scrapbook papers this would be an ideal solution, although it would be a bit pricey as a purchase for just that purpose. For the laptops and electronics that need protection, though, it's the perfect solution.
