These have held up for our strong winds in Colorado for our sun shade.

I've been restoring/rebuilding an old wooden motorboat, and I liked the look of these hooks for handing the fenders. The snap closure helps keep random things from getting caught on the hooks, and what you do hook on them won't slide off by accident.316 stainless is a higher grade than 304 (which should be sufficient for freshwater use), so I have no worries about them rusting. However, I know there's a good chance that the spring inside is NOT stainless steel at all, so I'll have to keep an eye on that.As you can tell from their photos, these aren't necessarily polished to a mirror finish, but that's fine for my runabout.The one caution I'd offer is PLEASE ignore their suggested use (in the photos) for towing skiers or any such purpose where a person's life or safety is at stake. While the hook itself might - MIGHT - be strong enough to pull a skier, the two little screws or the wood you drive them into certainly are not. That's a pretty poor suggestion on their part, and I hope no one gets injured as a result.
