This product is expensive. However, on reflection it is a premium product aimed at a specific need so I can understand why it costs more. That said. The kit in the box is great, It will be everything that you need to get it install on your bike and charging your phone. For iPhone users, you'll need an additional charging cable (I'll come back to this later) for andriod and windows phones. You'll have everything you need right out of the box. This product has been very well thought out. Took me only a few minutes to install to my water bottle bracket, in additon to the existing water bottle and bike pump. I chose to put this on the right hand side of the bike (chainside) and this tuned out to be the best place in my opinion. My phone attached to the bike using a quadlock bracket (again a premium product) on the left hand side of the handle bar (close to the center) Using a single velcro strap (two and supplied in the kit) I was able to hold the cable close to the downtube before I had it route in front of the stearing pivot and back before plugging into the bottom of the phone. With this setup is sort of follows the line of the existing cables and does not effect the steering in any way.One the trial ride (18 miles over 2 hours) I started with the nostrom turned off (forgot to turn it on) and set off, the phone quickly drained to about 50% as it would when running the screen, gps and streaming music. So I turned on the power to the nostrom. By the time I finished my ride my phone was back up to 100%, again this was charging against running the screen, gps and streaming music. When I checked the battery of the Nostrom, 4 of the 5 battery lights were lit. It was full before I started on my ride. It would be interesting to see how much longer it would go before a second light would go out. For my needs this is going to be much more than enough power to keep my phone running all day.Accessories, this is where the amazon listings are not complete. I'm an iPhone user, and the cable that comes in the box is a MicroUSB, with a Y-Cable that has a male usb socket, this allows you to plug in another USB cable - iPhone charging cable. But on looking at the ZNEX website, you can get a dedicated Lightning cable that you can use instead of the MicroUSB one. This is what I used. In addition, I have also (after the initial order) found that you can get a protective sleeve for your battery device. I've got one of these on order, which is just as well as after my muddy ride today, I needed to wash the crud off the battery pack. I can see that there is alot of potential for it to get scratches and so on over time, so the sleeve is definitely work looking at.

A great product and very helpful response when I forgot to order something. I think it is worth investing in the single cable options as well. They are just neater on the bike when mounted although to be fair the dual function cable that comes with it does the job fine. I would have preferred a tighter fitting mount with a rubber band to velcro but that's personal preference. The optional neoprene sleeve makes for a better fit (with the sticky backed strips removed from the holder). I would recommend that too - it's one thing I think would be better off costed into the price and supplied as standard. Overall, as someone else has written, this is an expensive solution (especially with the extras) but I care about "neatness" and durability and being sure that I have enough power for the longest of rides. So, for me, it's worth the extra to achieve that. And it's obviously well-manufactured. I bought the light as well, which is similarly impressive.

29.04.2021 EDIT nach meinem Kauf im Dezember 2017Nach mehreren Jahren mehr oder weniger hartem Einsatz, kann ich meinen ersten Eindruck nur bestätigen. Ich lade damit alles (ROX Bike-Computer, Handy, Tablett, LED-Lichter, ...) benutze ihn direkt für das Bike-USB-LED-Frontlicht. Auch zwei Geräte gleichzeitig funktionieren sehr gut. Handy + Bikecomputer, Handy + USB-LED-Licht auch auf der stärksten Stufe).Ladung mit Magnetstecker (Stecker findet sogar unter der Verschraubung Platz und kann dort verbleiben) funktionieren ebenso, wie Ladung mit faltbarem Solarpanel.So wie es scheint temperaturunempfindlich. Ob unter Minus 10, oder über 30 Grad, der Akku liefert Strom und zeigt auch noch keine Speicherverluste.Die Schwachstelle ist und bleibt das sehr spezielle Y-Kabel. Eines aus meiner damaligen Bestellung ist mir leider schon an der "Sollbruchstelle" gebrochen. Mit dem, dem Akku zugedachten harten Einsatz, kann dieses Kabel leider bei weitem nicht mithalten. Im harten Außeneinsatz, muss man hier immer doppelt aufpassen. Kabel hin, Akku umsonst, keine Alternative, kein Improvisieren möglich, ...Ich würde daher den Akku NIEMALS beim Flaschenhalter montieren. Steigt man unfreiwillig ab, ist die Gefahr einfach zu groß, dass man mit dem Kabel wo einfädelt. Habe deshalb zwei entsprechende Taschenlampenhalter links und rechts am Lenker montiert. Sieht zwar etwas klobig aus, ABER die Kabel können für alle Anforderungen sehr kurz gehalten werden. Kein einfädeln und auch keiner permanenten "Schmutzzufur" durch das Vorderrad ausgesetzt. Keine, oder nur sehr wenig Nässe am offenen USB-Stecker. Aus / Einschalten geht dann auch ohne die Hand vom Lenker zu nehmen. Ebenso hat man auch die Ladestandsanzeige stets im Blick.Wer viel auf Reisen ist, sollte sich am Flughafen entsprechend darauf vorbereiten und mit Hausverstand agieren. Offen und gut sichtbar zu anderen Geräten auflegen und das Kabel abmontieren! Es sollte jedem klar sein, dass dort runde Dinger mit Kabel dran nicht besonders gut ankommen. Ebenfalls darauf achten, dass die Schrift am Akku immer gut zu lesen ist/bleibt. So hat es bis jetzt - außer ein paar schiefen Blicken - immer sehr gut funktioniert.========== Dezember 2017 =====================Der NOTSTROM, oder sollte er wirklich einmal leer werden NOT-STROM :-) sieht wirklich sehr solide aus. Nach erstem Eindruck kommen die zahlreichen positiven Bewertungen nicht von ungefähr. Auch das mitgelieferte Zubehör kann sich sehen lassen und sieht funktionell aus.Erstmaliges Aufladen: die ersten Punkte gehen sehr schnell, der letzte braucht im Vergleich dazu ewig. Egal, die angegebene Ladezeit kommt hin. Bleibt nur zu hoffen, dass die angezeigte Entladung gleichmäßiger verläuft. Das wird dann der Einsatz zeigen.USB-Netzteil fehlt. Steht in der Beschreibung, kann man diskutieren drüber ... Zum Aufladen ist ein USB-C-Kabel notwendig. Geht man auf eine längere Tour (z.B.: Urlaub), sollte man darauf achten, beide Kabel mitzunehmen. Mit den nächsten Generationen an Smartphones sollte sich das wieder erübrigen.Eine Schwachstelle fällt allerdings sofort auf, und die liegt beim mitgelieferten Y-Kabel. Ohne Verwendung hat man gut an die notwendigen angehängten Abdeckungen gedacht. Das Kabel mit USB-Micro ist sinnvollerweise etwas länger. Das Problem ist beim normalen USB-Ausgang. Egal was man hier ansteckt. der Stecker ist an der Außenseite rundherum offen! Dass es anders geht - überhaupt wenn mann WASSERDICHT bewirbt - sieht man bei jeder stinknormalen USB-Verlängerung. Wie ich meine gehört hier dringend nachgebessert. Sollte ich dieses Ende einmal benötigen, werde ich mir hier wohl mit einem Schrumpfschlauch behelfen müssen.Ein weiterer Nachteil, der hoffentlich nie zum tragen kommt, ist das Kabel an sich. Sollte der USB-Stecker, oder das Kabel selbst einmal defekt sein, kommt man wohl nicht umhin, ein neues - nicht gerade billiges - Ersatzkabel zu bestellen. Passiert einem das unterwegs, hat man NOT-STROM. Einfach ein anderes Smartphone-Kabel verwenden ist nicht. Mit der Speziellen Schraubverbindung zum Akku ist ein einfacher Kabeltausch nicht möglich. Kennt man die USB-Belegung wäre es eventuell möglich ein neues USB-Kabel anzulöten. Aber da sollte man auf alle Fälle wissen was man tut.Abgesehen davon, denke ich doch, dass die Keule das hält was sie verspricht. Viel Licht und viel Saft fürs Smartphone.
