Very pleased with this little gem. This is our second rice cooker. Although we were pleased with the previous "other brand" that made wonderful rice during the 12 years of ongoing use, we decided to replace it with the Zojirushi based on reputation, size and looks and so far we have not been disappointed. The rice turns out perfect every time. It fits nicely in the cupboard, looks good on the counter and it is super simple to use. It has not produced any of the messiness that has been reported in other reviews (and that we experienced with the former rice cooker, which I think may be common with most rice cookers of this style). Very pleased with our purchase and highly recommend.

No steamer basket included. You’d be lucky if this thing could really hold 3 cups of cooked rice. This thing takes a long time to cook one cup of rice. It smells like wire burning as it cooks the first batch. And frankly it’s a ripoff at $60. Do not purchase or you’ll be disappointed just like I am. I suspect it’s a refurbished item.

We got tired of the newer rice cookers with all the useless buttons so we went back to the more traditional ones. One button and cooks on time and the rice comes out perfect. It is pricey but will last a long time and it is worth it for the price. We have two adults and 1 child in the household, so this works perfect for a small family of even four people. We cook rice every morning. The only thing you need to always remember, is to unplug it after the rice is done.
