Unfortunately it would not work on wood pelt cat litter. Its well made and very study, would work well with sand

I have chickens and I use sand under my roots and in their run. This scoop cleans the sand better than All the other scoops I have bought!! So if you have chickens and you use sand, this scoop is the ticket!! I wish is was larger!!

We use this scoop to help keep our chicken run clean, which is grounded with sand. It is so comfortable to use and the shape is ideal for getting into corners too. Liked it so much we bought a second one a year later so we could both use one at the same time.
