The text describes these bowls as taste-less, I suspect meaning they don't add any taint to foods being prepared it it as some zinc and other metal based bowls would do with some foods- here there are no concerns. These are good quality stainless steel bowls in 3 very useful sizes, nest well together and have no manufacturing defects or rough/sharp edges you may have from cheaper manufacturers.The bowl style is simple but strikingly refined, a deeply drawn bowl with near vertical walls which quickly flatten at the base giving a good shape for mixing as there isn't a long curve where food mixing may be affected by the shape of the utensil. The steel is brushed around the circumference, more noticable inside and at the exterior base, but it looks expensive and carefully made.Due to the construction the side walls are strong and this allows it to be quite lightweight for the size, the edge of the rim has been effectively rolled over , again increasing strength and grip but also taking away a sharp edge risk.Have used these a few time s now, mainly for mixing and food preparation and I have had no problems and the performance has been great.These look spectacular in comparison to my normal, old set- which will be recycled very soon. Excellent build quality.
