I have a couple of other western hats that were much more expensive; this one is nicely different, being much more breathable. It's lightweight on the head and very comfortable. I ordered a large because I don't like tight hats, and this has an elastic interior band that easily made up the difference without being at all tight on my head - very nice! The hat band is understated and looks good. The entire hat does not in any way look cheap to me, either.The only concern I have is that "100% paper" is listed as the material it's made from, and it is suggested to only hand wash it. It doesn't say, but I would guess that it has some sort of protective sealant on it - or at least hope so! I'm nervous about every getting it wet in the rain. I do love that it came with a plastic interior mold that can be used to help reshape the crown. The sides and front were a little more curled than I'd like, and I was able to easily bend them out a bit to my liking.I would definitely get it again. The only caveat I would add to that is that I really wish it came with a dark brown chin strap that could be used when wearing it in the wind, especially with it being made from 100% paper. If it were blown into a puddle or lake it sounds like it would be a total loss, and a chin strap would help prevent that.

Arrived badly creased and dented which i am having problems sorting out. Hat might have been otherwise a good purchase but not on this occasion - i possible to wear.

My normal got to for summer is a good quality Panama and i've got a collection of those too.I was surprised that the hat came in the black plastic bag and was kind of horrified at what damage may have been done and you can see it just after opening, it's a bit crimped, but the crown in fine. There's a clear plastic former and it worked great at protecting the hat. The brim is wired, and quickly and easily bent back to whatever shape you want - I didn't even need to revert to the steam trick (open kettle, on boil, light steam and hats return to their blocked form, another trick on holiday is to leave in a bathroom, after a hot shower, so the light mist does the trick)XL size, beige and it is comfortable on a 61-62 large head, the band will reduce sweat and adds comfort and a bit of wind protection.It's a good funcky hat, on the cheaper side, but it is paper rather than toquilla straw, for most, with casual use, this will work well. Personally i'm a tad snobby and a fine weave toquilla panama is always my go to, but they're 5x the cost and up!Just to note, don't get it wet as in proper rain storm, protect the hat!

Nice looking and well finished hat in the cowboy style ie the sides turn up. The XL fits me well - I am a 7 1/4. Made of straw style fabric the description says paper so I guess you would not want to get this hat wet too often. It has a useful lining which looks as though it would absorb sweat and 3 good sized air holes on each side. Altogether a stylish hat in a neutral color well made with a neat leather band. Ideal summer headwear.

I was thrilled to find a cowboy hat that comfortably fits my larger head—it's not easy to find hats in XXL sizes that don't feel tight. The design is stylish, and the material feels lightweight, which is great for summer events. However, I was disappointed with how easily the hat loses its shape. After just a short time, the brim started to warp, and it doesn't hold its original form well. If you're looking for a hat for occasional use or as a costume accessory, this could work, but it might not be the best choice for regular wear.
