A bit tricky putting over my miniature cherry tree but great when it's on.I used 4 tall bamboo canes in the corners to avoid the net pressing on the leaves.A very good product at a reasonable price.

The fruit trees are starting to bud - the birds are starting to loiter so, when the 'ZZMYSYXL Garden Netting 180x200cm Fruit Tree Net' came onto the Vine program, I thought it would be an ideal item to review. We currently use bits of net to try and stop our blueberries being eaten, but we've never had a netted bag specially designed for the purpose.Luckily, this net is 180x200cm as our main blueberry bush is quite big (see pic).It was easy to fit (but quicker with two people) - having the zip down the length and a drawstring at the base is a nice touch (with a small caveat - see later). The mesh is fine enough not to catch on the fruit - none were lost, which is a big difference. The only flaw (and why it is a 4 🌟, not 5) is because the drawstring is looped at the bottom, so you can't just unzip and then wrap the net around. Our simple solution was to cut the loop (see pic) and then reattach the drawstring bobble to tighten up at the base. It should keep any birds well away!It is a bit pricey (£15.9 at time of writing) - but what price would you pay for a decent fruit harvest?

I was hopeful I would be able to cover a cherry tree with this to stop the birds getting the fruit before we did! Sadly it is not as big as I'd hoped and would be more suitable for a small bush, say raspberries or goose berries for example. However as it is, the mesh is fine enough once the pollinators have done their thing, it's lightweight and the zip cover and pull cord are both helpful in avoiding snags before tucking away the bush. Water and light will still get in and in principle it will keep the pesky birds away. I managed to cover one branch though wasn't able to close it up fully but I'm still hopeful I may get a cherry or two later in the year. For £14 or thereabouts it's a good investment but just remember to remove it at the end of the season and store it - I would hope to get a good 5 seasons out of it!

Protect a tall shrub or the fruit producing parts of a small tree. The netting is about six feet square with an open side and a zip on the adjoining side. This means that it is easy to get it in position around something and zip it closed. If the area you are protecting is off the ground, the open side has a drawstring and toggle for maximum protection. The mesh is fine enough that it would be very difficult for insects or birds to get in but light enough not to damage the plants or block the light. The material feels tough, durable and won't absorb much water, avoiding weighing down the plants it's protecting. Not much else to be said...Protect a tall shrub or the fruit producing parts of a small tree. The netting is about six feet square with an open side and a zip on the adjoining side.
