Perfect for motorcycle windshields. One of the plastic nuts on the windshield of my Gen 1 KLR 650 vibrated off, and my local dealer didn't have them in stock. These well nuts...a completely different design than the original plastic nuts...fit in the original hole and provided a much more secure...and vibration proof (KLRs vibrate so much, tightening nuts is part of any tune-up).They're also a lot cheaper than the factory OEM nuts..Recommended

The threaded part just spins in the rubber, can't draw anything tight.

I do a bit of kayak modification and repair and I always use well nuts for all my accessory mounting. They just hold up better in the long run than rivets it seems and they are easy to replace/repair of something goes wrong. They seal better as well, marine glue doesn't always bond to all the surfaces as well as one would like, bu these just expand into place and seal the hole by pressure, works every time.
