These strings completely transformed my 2019 American Professional Jazz Bass. This bass always had somewhat lacklustre and unbalanced tone. I was going to try replacing the factory ‘V-Mod’ pickups but decided to try yet another set of strings, after working my way through some other brands. I am over-joyed at how these strings changed my mind about this bass. These strings have the perfect blend of modern sizzle, and vintage thump, for my ears, as well as perfectly balanced tone across the fret board. They feel great under the fingers and have beautiful emerald green silk on the tuning-peg end. I hope they stay fresh sounding for at least a few weeks! I like them so much I just bought another two sets in case they get discontinued.

The strings may be just fine, I have no idea as my local retailer doesn’t stock them and the ones Amazon sent me are too short. Yep - an Epiphone Embassy was the bass I wanted to put them on, and the E string barely reached past the E string tuner. The A string didn’t even reach the A string tuner, it was the same length as the E string. Likely a factory mistake, since they’re all hand made strings, but I’m not buying them again because of that.

First set showed up and the D string was not responding like the others. I had a replacement sent and I'm extremely happy with the results. The strings are soft, highly responsive and sound amazing. Especially slapping (this was a better choice than Cobalt). And the green silk is a nice touch. This was also a cheaper set, in line with standard Boomers.

To me these don’t match the sales pitch. They are supposed to be balanced in tone? I find them very high in treble. Using other brands, I play with a very flat eq on my Fender Rumble. My vintage Ampeg, high bass and 10 o’clock. These GHS Balanced, I take the treble and turn it to “0” all amps and tone knob on guitar. On the rumble I even turned the high mid down to 9, o’clock and low mids down to noon and hit the vintage button! The strings response is bottom missing and all top. They are horrible and such a distraction, I’ve developed the opinion they are worst set of strings guitar or bass I’ve ever purchased! Brand new, 1st string G sounded like an acoustic guitar! After a week and half they mellowed alittle but still top heavy. Oh these stink. At an elevated price point, forget it. There are cheaper options with better feel, play, and sound. I’d rather be a one trick pony with playing all flats (it’s a good one trick!), these stinkers trick is to be a lead bass guitar player. On my Jazz bass i love using the bridge to dial in the sound, normally, with these the bridge is off and unusable. BIG NO. I’m replacing them, my favorite bass has ostracized from the collective, unacceptable.
