I find this difficult to rate accurately, but not due to it being ineffective - more because it's stated purpose, of being suitable for watch glass polishing, falls between ambitious and inaccurate.It does have an effect - and, if you apply it to cork sheet and use that for polishing, then the cork becomes charged with the paste and is more effective. However, anything hard enough to scratch watch glass - and we're talking actual glass here, such as hardlex crystal, not the more common perspex - will leave a fairly deep scratch. The only way to remove such a scratch is to grind the entire glass surface down to the lowest part of the scratch and then polish back up to a high lustre. This paste is just not suitable for that task.When I decided to take this for review, I was under the impression that there were several grades from coarse to fine. To be fair the advert wasn't very clear about this, but it did give the impression that as there were 5 tubes, there would be 5 grades. This is not the case, they are all fine grade - and, while the paste is very effective at giving a final polish, it most definitely is not suitable for removing anything but the finest scratch from hard watch crystal - anything other than that will require a range of grades.However, the paste itself is decent quality and, when used with cork or hard felt wheels (or similar), it's as effective as any other fine diamond paste that I've ever used. To get the best out of it, use as described above. Felt wheels are particularly effective as the felt holds on to the grit (remember to bag the wheels separately when using different grits).So I'm giving it 4 stars because it's actually decent quality. As is, though, it's not really suitable for removing scratches from watch glass.

You get 5 syringes of W1 grade oil based paste with this but it is sold in a number of different grades. This seemed like quite a lot but I have found that you need to use a fair bit of it to achieve anything so its not quite as good a value as my initial thoughts, I would guess each syringe holds maybe 5ml. In use you need to use quite a lot of it to make any impression on the job so it doesn't really seem to go that far. Its important to get the correct grade for your purpose, I found the W1 is actually really fine and seems less effective than an auto polishing paste. I would say some sort of mechanical polishing aid such as a drill attachment is almost essential to make any progress. I used it to try to remove a little misting from my wood burner door and its has had some effect, however I think I would be an awful long time making an impression on a couple of scratches I also have in the door. Its horses for courses so make sure you get the right horse (grade!).

The description of the product was ambiguous and I think misleading, as it referred to a range of grades being available, but the sale page had no way to choose or specify a grade, which to me seemed to imply the packet would contain a range of grades.Unfortunately It doesn't, it contains 5 syringes all containing the same grade - W1 - which I take to mean 1 micron. I was suspicious that all the photos were carefully posed so that the grade on the syringe was not visible.So now you know; if you want a range of grades, don't buy this, but if you want a lot of 1 micron paste, you might have found it.
