These pre-sensitised papers, 50 A6 sheets in total, arrived in a resealable black plastic bag that seems like a proper light-proof bag, so I've felt confident storing them away in it. Alongside the paper, you also get two clear plastic wallets. These are quite useful for either slipping smaller items into or for laying over the top of the paper to hold things down. The paper itself feels like a fairly standard wood pulp paper, nothing fancy, but it does the job. The sensitiser is applied right across the whole sheet, from edge to edge, which might not suit everyone.Using them is pretty straightforward. You place whatever you want to print onto the paper – I've tried leaves, feathers, and even some small trinkets. Then you expose it to sunlight. The instructions in the ad suggest about 6-10 minutes (and also 10-15 minutes), but I found playing around with the exposure time really changes the outcome. For instance, I tried one sheet for 10 minutes, just with some clothesline and pegs, and another for 15 minutes with a fern and some elderflower heads. What I observed was that the shorter exposure time actually resulted in a deeper, richer blue. That’s something to keep in mind if you're aiming for a particular shade, and want to avoid bleaching. After the sun exposure, you take the paper and soak it in water. I usually just put it in the bathroom basin full of water although I do have several photographic developer trays to hand which also work. You'll see the magic happen here as the unexposed areas wash away and the pattern starts to appear in a lovely blue. If there's any yellow residue, a bit more rinsing usually sorts it out. Then, it's just a case of drying the prints in a cool, shaded spot. A handy hint: If you have cartridge paper, place the cyanotypes on top and sandwich it between another sheet. Then add a number of heavy hardbacks to flatten them out. The cartridge paper will absorb the water and they won’t stick to the paper. The books, well they do the flattening - obvs!I've had a lot of fun with these. They're a brilliant way to get creative with natural light and objects, and I can see them being a fantastic educational tool for kids, teaching them about light and art in a hands-on way. If you're looking to dip your toes into cyanotype sun printing, these are a decent starting point.Pros:• Generous quantity of paper in the pack.• Comes with a genuinely light-proof resealable bag.• Includes two handy clear plastic wallets for holding items.• Simple and intuitive to use.• Good for creative exploration and educational purposes.Mediocre Aspects:• Paper quality is quite basic.Cons:• Sensitizer has been applied edge-to-edge; it’s one of the drawbacks of pre-coated papers.⭐ Not recommended⭐⭐ Consider other options before this one⭐⭐⭐ A decent product that's worth considering⭐⭐⭐⭐ A great product, keep high on your list⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An outstanding product, and one of my top choices
