This card reader is great, though I am of the opinion that its compactness can play against its favor sometimes. The card reader in general is relatively well made, though the cap unclips a little too lightly for my liking. I wouldn't be surprised if I would lose it in short notice since it can come off with slight nudges against it, and it also doesn't have any system designed to keep it safely around when the reader is in use. The small form factor of the card reader is also without any form of latching holes for a small lanyard, so not only the cap but the whole card reader might be a little prone to getting lost. That said, it is the tradeoff of having such compact accessories.Performance wise though it's all pretty rosy. The fastest cards at my disposal are V60 cards and UHS-I for MicroSD, so tests are done with that to a NVMe laptop through a thunderbolt compatible USB-C port.-On the V60 card: Offloading large folders of photos (29-51mb files), I can achieve about 208mb/s which is somewhat close to the practical maximum read speed of my card. Offloading larger files such as a 908mb video, I couldn't get the Windows Explorer transfer window to pop up because it would have already already finished transferring.-On the V60 card: Transferring files onto the card is definitely a bit further from the practical maximum transfer speeds. With those same photos I am getting around 68mb/s while the large file is around 88mb/s.Dual card reading also works excellent, and is something that I feel most card readers don't do. Naturally, when offloading data off both SD and MicroSD cards at the same time the transfer speed will be split between the two so it won't quite be as near the practical maximum, but still pretty speedy. The dual card transfer was still faster than transferring through my SD card slot having USB-C dongle for instance, so I'm pretty happy with the performance. The card reader will definitely heat up too, but nothing out of the ordinary in my opinion. It might feel warmer than say a Lexar RW500 (excellent multi-card reader as well) but considering how this is about 1/4 of the size there is less material that can act as a heat sink for sure. And while I would say my Lexar might transfer a little bit faster, I need to make sure I have the appropriate cable for that to happen; considering so many USB-C cables only support up to USB2.0 speeds, the random compatible cable you can find at a moment's notice can end up transferring slower than this dongle! So overall, while I do wish the whole cap design situation could be better and I wish there was a small hole for a thin lanyard... the compactness and performance of this card reader overcomes these deficiencies, especially considering how it can read two cards at once and is frankly quite inexpensive to boot. An easy recommend.

Pessimo
