It requires power via DC IN in order to power your peripherals. The lights will turn on, but without DC IN, the switch will not provide power to even a single USB device. The DC IN is a USB-C, but I was able to connect a small USB C-to-A cable to provide that external power via my surge protector.It takes about 3-5 seconds to switch peripherals. My peripherals took another 1-2 seconds to re-initialize on top of that. So, about 4-7 seconds total. I recommend buying some Velcro and attaching this box to the back of your monitor.Other than that, we'll see if this device has the expected Anker longevity.

Works well. I like the included USB 2.0 ports for wireless mouse and keyboard dongles (USB 3 tends to interfere with those and make them behave erratically). The USB-C port on the front is handy, as is supplying power to the switch via another USB-C port on the back.I paid £29.99 for mine, which I feel is excellent value.The only thing that could have made it better would be offering full USB 3.2 Gen 2 support on the USB 3 and C ports instead of the 5Gbps it comes with, but I doubt many will miss this.
