See photos. I bought this to rebuild the cheap jumper clips set I bought from Amazon ( back in August of 2016 (*to be fair, I didn't realize they'd lasted eight and a half years). I had a couple of them that were intermittent for a while, which I dealt with and just avoided using them, but knowing they're intermittent explains a lot of issues I was having. Once I discovered that they were failing, I stopped using the questionable ones, but I needed something to replace them.They weren't soldered, just crimped, and the wires were very small gauge with only -- maybe nine -- strands in the cable, which led to their eventual (and inevitable) failure. Rather than buying more of the same, and dealing with that lower-than-acceptable quality, I found this product. Being 16-awg, I knew it would be larger diameter, but WOW I wasn't expecting such a huge difference between the old and the new. I'm guessing the old were about a 22-AWG or so. Nonetheless, I was able to use the cable to rebuild the old ones (reusing the clips and boots), soldering the wire to the clips for a permanent and solid electrical AND physical connection. Plus, while it looks like the individual strands are the same gauge as those in the old cable, there must be a hundred of them in the new cable (probably not but look at the images to see the stark difference), AND, they're individually pre-tinned, so soldering was a breeze. I expect this rebuilt set to last me until the probably-aluminum hinge rivets of the clips wear apart and the clips themselves fail... at which point I'll just buy more clips because this wire is great and at this point I'd rather rebuild again and know what I'm getting than buy another complete set and have unknown quality.If I had a complaint, it would be that instead of white (all clip sets I've seen are red, black, green, yellow, and white) it comes with blue, but that doesn't change the operation or suitability of the product for this use so it's really a non-issue. And, having only used about 2 and a half feet of each color, I could -- if I wanted -- do it again at least once more.I would also be willing to use this wire to repair my multimeter leads, if those weren't molded in place on the connectors and probe tips.
