I’ve always been a fan of getting a bargain or the most for your money and stayed away from big brands and double the cost. But I had the chance to try this and I can see why there is the extra cost.That doesn’t mean it’s worth it to everyone! But in this case the quality is a step up. I can’t tell how long it will last overall but the quality and condition are very good and give confidence.It’s fantastic to use as well. Straight forward with no issues. The noise is still on the high side but less than the other one I have. Battery life is the same. It’s very good to hold and use. A small step up in that regard but overall it all adds up.For the cost I think it’s a good investment. No, it doesn’t do twice as much as one half the cost but with a real warranty and great quality it is still worth getting. I’m happy with it.

Der Exzenterschleifer von Bosch kam gut verpackt bei mir an. Dabei ist ein Auffangbehälter für den Schleifstaub und ein Hilfsmittel um die gelochten Schleifscheiben auch mittig aufzubringen. Des Weiteren findet man ein Handbuch in mehreren Sprachen. Eine Schleifscheibe ist ebenfalls dabei. Mit der kann man die Hilfe zum Aufbringen der Schleifscheibe ausprobieren. Zuerst habe ich über die Hilfe geschmunzelt, aber sie hat doch ihre Berechtigung. Die Schleifscheibe wird über eine Klettbandverbindung exakt mittig fixiert. Diese Verbindung macht einen sehr guten und festen Eindruck. Der Schleifer hat einen Ein / Aus Schalter und eine stufenlose Geschwindigkeitseinstellung. Der Schleifer ist ergonomisch designt und liegt gut in der Hand. Leider ist der Akku nicht dabei. Hätte ich bei fast 100.-€ Produktpreis erwartet. Nichtdestotrotz nehme ich den Akku von einem anderen Bosch – Werkzeug was ich schon habe. Die passen ja zum Glück untereinander. Es ist ein schönes Werkzeug mit der gewohnten Bosch-Qualität.

There’s plenty to like about the UniversalOrbit 18V-20; a capable cordless sander from Bosch. This green DIY focused power tool comes as a bare unit, boxed with instructions and a few accessories including: a dust collector, a single 80 grit sanding disk and a strange little plastic tool that’s designed to assist in the fitment of sanding disks. I’m not sure wrapping a paper disk around the accessory and offering it up to the hook-and-loop pad is any easier than placing the disk directly into position freehand, but it’s there for those that do. In either case, discs attach to the rotating base with very good adhesion and remain firmly in place even under extreme pressure, which this sander is capable of producing.It’s a random orbital sander, so the pad spins on an orbital cycle as it rotates, which allows you to achieve fast and consistent sanding with a swirl-free finish. A speed dial is really useful for adjusting the intensity o the sanding discs rotation meaning the sander is suitable for softer and harder materials and surfaces.The 125mm disc measurement is a good all-rounder and well sized for most DIY jobs. Hook and loop discs are easily available from a heap of suppliers and, as long as they have the extraction holes in the correct place, dust removal is impressive during use. It’s collected in the included… collector, which is easily installed or removed for emptying by a simple turn screw motion. It’s also possible to attach a vacuum to suck away dust, but an adapter may be required depending on the size of the nozzle.This cordless sander is ergonomic, well balanced, fairly light weight (about 1KG) and easy to use. I’ve had no issues where vibrations are concerned and I’ve been able use the tool for extended periods. It’s not particularly noisy, but ear protection may be a good idea depending on what material is being sanded and for how long.The power tool utilises the Universal ‘PowerForAll battery system, and I was able to use batteries that fit a Bosch hedge trimmer. The 2Ah battery (that keeps weight down) lasts for a surprising and impressive length of time. With the battery fitted the tool’s very manoeuvrable and glides around the work space with ease.Bosch have come up with an all-round quality sander that’s a pleasure to use. I would have liked to give a full five stars but, at £105.93 (at the time of writing this) the tool feels overpriced, especially considering there’s no battery included. Nevertheless, this is a great tool that performs well and sands with gusto.
