We recently installed a new kitchen and replaced the old sink and tap that had served us so well over the years. My wife liked this style of this tap and found both this one and also a similar one which was quite a bit cheaper. We asked our plumber's advice and he replied that in his experience, Bristan made good taps. On the basis that you do not buy taps every week, we elected to pay that bit extra. Having done so, we are delighted with our decision. Now it is in place, the tap looks good and the handles are sensitive enough so that the tap will produce just the flow that you require. Not only that, but they restrict the maximum flow so that if you open the tap fully, you do not end up giving yourself a shower when the flow of water hits the sink. Having said that, the flow is not so restricted that you spend an annoying time merely filling the kettle. It is a feature that the manufacturers have got just right. The handles feel nice to use and they react well when you use them. Although I know nothing about taps, it feels as though this is a well engineered product. In summary, the tap looks good and it functions well. Would I recommend it to a friend? Definitely. Would I buy it again? Well, I hope that I never have to, but if I ever to need to buy taps again,on the basis of this purchase, Bristan would be the top of my list.

This is really well made and thought out. Whilst in theory you could install this from the counter top rather than from under, in my case the tap hole was too small for the parts to go through. But overall sturdy and good design.

Installed this tap a few weeks ago and indeed it is pretty easy to install for a DIYer like myself. The tap itself is good looking and feels robust and well made. The tap levers themselves have a nice feel to them - not too loose or tight. So I'm very happy with the taps themselves. There are two aspects to make this easy to install - 1) the 'plate' that fits under the worktop to hold the tap in place can be tightened from above rather than faffin' around with spanners etc upside down and with little space 2) the 'plate' can, theoretically, be pushed through the worktop hole from above and therefore eliminating the need to acquire you to even put your head under the sink (bar taking the old tap out). The aspect 1) was brilliant and made the thing very easy. 2) on the other hand didn't work for me as, the hole, in what I think is a standard size hole in my worktop, was not big enough to put the plate through. This is not a big problem though. So, good to install and a good nice solid tap.The annoyance is that the company has for some odd reason decided to engrave "BRISTAN Easyfit" right on the front middle of the tap - see picture. To me, this really takes the look away from the tap, however, others may be OK with it.
