I bought these as gym shorts as I wanted shorts with zipped pockets. This only has one zipped pocket inside the right leg pocket but that's enough.I really like the shorts as they are comfortable and loom good. I would wear them as day to day shorts and will get more when the weather improves!

They work, but they're pretty cheaply made.
