CW Morse Code Key (Grijs)

 

I mistakenly tried adjusting this paddle stand alone and got frustrated. I connected it to my keyer and then the adjustment was easy. You can't see inside so I guess it doesn't have contacts like my bencher. I like a light touch with very little travel and that's what I've got. I like it.

少しタッチが柔らかいです、カチッカチッとしたクリックではありません。クリック位置の調整もミリ単位は難しいかな・・・小型でしっかりしたつくりなので移動運用には重宝しそうです。

This Morse key has a few things going for it:Weight. It is heavier than most pocket sized keys.Magnetic base. It latches onto metal surfaces easily and holds fast.Finish. The finish on the metal is well executed and looks to be durable for many years of use.Compact size. Perfect for POTA/SOTA/Mobile operations.But the bad points make it almost worthless...Flexible metal arms are not rigid enough to key at speed, worse they interfere with "pinch keying" and other techniques used with dual-keys.Adjustments are too coarse, I found that I could not reliably dial in any setting between the stops, again due in part to the spring-metal used for the arms of the paddles.Finally, when using the key with my radio, I got a lot of malformed CW words that were hard to copy. This is mostly due -- again -- to the design electing to use a hyper-flexible arm for the paddles and the difficulty in dialing in adjustments to prevent bounce and stutter.Price... Keys that cost half as much work far better.I'll be interested to see what the next iteration may look like after the company addresses these shortcomings.

Great little paddle. Adjustment can be tricky, but when locked in, keying is very smooth Need another for for my Grab-N-Go kit.
