Seems to work well, but perhaps I could have bought a larger unit. Haven’t tested USB comms yet.

Looking for a good power strip with surge protection and EMI/RFI filter, noticed at almost the same price point I can buy this UPS which has both of those plus a battery! Was worried about the noise (after reading some comments here) and had no good prior experience with UPSs in general! But decided to give this a try. So far, I do not regret the decision!PROS:+ Silent! Unless it switches to battery when it produces relatively high level of noise.+ Surge and lightning protection (only 450 Joules though so not sure if it is really effective against lightening! Eaton says for expensive devices look for UPSs that can absorb 1000-2000 Joules!)+ EMI and RFI filters (based on the specification page on CyberPower website)+ Overload protection+ Automatic Voltage Regulation without switching to battery (Line + Ethernet + COM port).+ Line interactive: which means faster than offline and quieter than online!CONS:- All ports and also the main power cable use IEC plug type (had to replace my monitor power cable with my UPS to make it work in Germany but not sure the monitor power cable can provide up to 550 Watt so will end up buying more cables! Look for the version without an 'I' in the model, for example VP1000ELCD instead of this one VP1000EILCD if you don't have IEC plugs)- Simulated sine wave output (not precise sinewave which means: this UPS is much cheaper but at the same time might not be ideal for the lifespan of certain connected devices (only upon power outages when UPS cannot produce precise sinewaves))- This version has COM port protection which might not be usable for everyone (there are versions of the UPS with Coaxial cable protection for example which might be more useful to you)- The app is not designed for 4k monitors. Everything's so tiny I had to use magnifier in Windows to read the text.- Online subscription!! Battery life cannot be monitored in the app unless you subscribe and pay a monthly fee! Not much but I hate when I have to sign up and log in just to see if the battery is still in a good state or I have to replace that! VERY ANNOYING CyberPower, at least sell insurance or something not basic functions of a device we've paid for!- Max 550 watts so chances are you cannot connect your laser printer to it! Never tested but the overload protection should turn off everything once a power-hungry printer starts working! For a monitor + a mini PC + a few external peripherals that consume less than 200 Watts even when all are in use this is very fine.
