Why buy this wick if you are not a candle-maker? Because of this little trick, which can keep your potted herbs alive. They usually die within a week in my hands because I forget to water them. But this little trick works a treat. You will still need to water from the top of the pot occasionally but we kept this basil plant alive for 10 days whilst on holiday by putting the wick in a very large pot of water (it drank about a litre). We have had it for about 8 weeks now.

I'm not sure what the problem is....but the wick will not stay lit. I'm using citronella oil.
