ECOVACS Goat G1 Navigatielabel, MNB010001

I purchased this mower after having had a Flymo Easilife 150 for 4 years to mow approx 150m² garden. I upgraded as I was fed up of replacing, testing and burying guide wires every year; from my research the Ecovacs model was the lowest price non-guide wire bot. It relies on beacons placed around the lawn and comes with 2 in the pack.The Ecovacs model is feature-packed in comparison using cameras and beacons to navigate, as opposed to 'bounce on edge' technology, and these are my observations of pros and cons in comparison to a guide wire mower like the Flymo Easilife:Pros:- Rapid install - had this mowing for me in under an hour from cracking open the box. Plug in, set up beacons, navigate it around the lawn in the app or use auto setup mode. Very easy.- No guide wires. This was a massive pull for me. I found that the temperature switch from winter to spring caused the buried guide wires on my other mower to disconnect and I'd wind up troubleshooting every year.- Looks. It looks really smart and futuristic. The dock comes with a handy storage lid for spare blades and tools- Mows in stripes and then goes around and does the edges. The app says it needs a 1m gap to get through but I've found it's pretty good even at 600cm.- App features. Some nice features in the app such as remote monitoring and starting (even over WiFi/mobile). My previous mower only did this over Bluetooth. You can also set the direction of the stripes in your lawn. These look tidy. It recommends a cutting time and schedule based on its analysis of your lawn. You can set it to do security patrols (no cutting) - may be useful for large properties- It feels like a premium tech purchase from the moment of opening the box. Well packaged, well labelled with an oversized set of easy to follow setup instructions printed on card, not flimsy bits of paper.- Operates quietly. More so than my last mower. Out of the box it's very chatty and has beeps but you can disable these althought it's tucked away as an option in the 'More settings' menu.- Blades are adjustable from 3cm cutting hight to 6cm. You twist a knob to do this near the control panel on top. On my last mower you had to remove the cutting disk and turn it before screwing it back in.- Comes with a good few spare blades and a cloth for the camera.- AI obstacle identification. I put some horizontal metal poles on the legs of my kids trampoline to prevent my old mower from getting stuck on it. The Ecovacs model doesn't need this. It stops in advance of obstacles really carefully. Seems reliable and there is an advanced AI option you can enable so it'll stop cutting if a human is nearby or if it sees a hedgehog. It can also identify hose pipes - I found out in day one of owning my old mower as this is quite handy as I severed my hosepipe in Homer Simpson-esque fashion almost immediately after setting my old mower off on its first cut! You live, you learn!Cons:- The beacons are white and silver. Make them green - it live in a garden, not the International Space Station!- You need to sync time zones. My mower kept coming out at 1am despite me setting a cut time during the day on the app. You have to go into 'More settings' and click 'Sync time zones' for it to match your country.- Doesn't cut in the dark! I sent my mower out at dusk and it returned to base as it was unable to navigate and came up with errors- Volume option is tucked away deep in menu options so I tolerated beeps and feedback noises for a while until I found this.Despite the cons I absolutely love this. Works reliably, looks great and I'm not bored yet of fiddling and optimising in the app.

It's a clever bit of kit, and when it's running properly, it's great. But there are just so many problems. Mine was constantly having problems with the left rear wheel. Then it started refusing to mow, saying that it was raining despite having not rained all day. Then it started going out on its little mowing escapades in the middle of torrential downpours. It was also getting constantly stuck on a low tree stump and would alert me to come out and save it...but if I pressed 'return to charger' it would merrily get off the stump itself after I'd manually entered my key number on the mower. It's very needy.I HAD intended on returning it for a replacement, seeing as I can see a lot of these little problems being ironed out, but definitely needed a new unit to address the rear wheel issue. But doing the return, there was no replacement option, just a refund. So, I did that. But once the mower was returned and I finally got my refund (which was a whole adventure in itself), the mower has increased in price by £140. So now, I'm either going to be out of pocket by £140 for something that wasn't my fault and has been frustrating to deal with, or...I'm left with no mower and a £99 sensor that's now useless to me.Is it too much to ask to simply replace a broken purchase?

Provato per qualche giorno, inizialmente avevo fatto qualche errore di impostazione, ma dopo 3 settimane di utilizzo devo dire che fuzniona bene. unico neo, sono i bordi che devo necessariemente farli a mano, ma piuttosto di perdere 2,5 h a sistemare il giardino, ora mi basta una mezz'oretta ogni 15 giorni. Si è bloccato un paio di volte in un punt del giardino in cui non c'è prato, ma solo terra, forse dovrei escluderlo da come zona.
