The product is functionally okay - but does not match the picture as there are no "pretty" external hinges or latches as shown. Instead there is what appears to be a pin on each side (that does function perfectly well as a hinge) of the clean out door, and a simple L shaped threaded hook that you twist to fit in a slit in the door to lock it (also works perfectly well). Nor does it match the description "Measures 8.5-Inch by 6-Inch by 4.5-Inch" - it is barely 3x3 inches!Construction is of 1cm thick wood, with metal staples, and yes, there is an asphalt shingle type covering on the roof. It is hung from a hole in the back and slips over a large headed screw or nail (not included). The house is stained a nice weathered brown, and has a fancy metal plaque right below the hole. There are no vent or drainage holes, nor is there a rough interior (so baby birds can more easily climb to hole).Size: interior floor is 2 and 3/4 inches (7cm X 7cm) square; 4 and 1/2 inches (12cm) from the bottom of the hole to the floor; hole is 1 and 1/4 inches (3cm) with an additional 1 and 1/2 inches (4cm) from top of hole to peak. All in the exterior dimensions are 3 and 3/4 inches (9.5 cm) on each side; 9 inches (23cm) from top of peak to bottom of house - so it is quite small, although as a "wren" house, likely adequate.There are no vent/drainage holes, I suggest you pull out the drill and add them, just in case.It's cute, reasonably well made, but frankly, ridiculously pricey ($50+) for what you get (on sale for $15 is still too much, IMO), especially when it does not have the size/dimensions specified, the pretty hardware and must be modified with vent/drainage holes.

Wunderschöner, natürlich aussehender Nistkasten. Ein ideales Geschenk für alle Natur-, Garten- und Tierfreunde. Gewicht ist relativ leicht. Jetzt müssen die Vögel nur noch kommen!
