Just got this stove in the mail today. Quality product. It is light, small, well built, stable, and should definitely provide good service as an individual stove or as a burner in other cooking arrangements. Fires up as anticipated, although I have not cooked or heated anything on it yet since I am still waiting for the matching cross-stand.

Great little efficient alcohol stove, much better than Trangia. Only issue is does not have lid to snuff out flame -used the trangia one.

I don't do camping any more; I don't buy into the whole "survival" world of rubbish "firestick" firelighters, wood-burning micro-stoves, and more. But what I did want, was to replace a former, wonderful, but recently expired, mini-gas burner that was just perfect for making a Turkish Coffee or perhaps a Crepe Suzette at the table. The old burner was a Butane-fueled, self-igniting device that worked a treat. Small, self-contained, just perfect. Until, that is, the rubber seals on the refilling valve finally perished, and it would no longer hold gas. Into the bin after perhaps 15 years of love.I decided I needed something even simpler, even smaller, to replace it, and somehow or other, fell upon a description of this lovely device, the EverNew Titanium Alcohol (?Stove?!!) Burner. It was not especially cheap, but then it's made in Japan, from Titanium. NO moving parts, just a double-walled container with two rings of holes, and a central graduated well.I skipped using the graduations, but instead filled a "double" drinks jigger with Bioethanol (hate that word, nearly ALL Ethanol comes from fermented plant sources, so why the "Bio" prefix? But I digress), and tipped it into the burner - oops "stove" - on a heat-proof plate, and lit it with a candle lighter.Initially, for (say) about 20 seconds, all you get it a flickering flame on the alcohol surface inside the well, but then, as if by magic, "jets" of blue flame start forming around all the holes. Within perhaps 40 seconds of ignition, you have a stable and hot blue-with-yellow-tinges flame perhaps 20cm tall. This burns for some 10-12 minutes, before starting to decrease in height as the fuel gets used up. Finally, a tiny "pop", and the flame is gone, and your "stove" is empty.DO NOT TOUCH for several minutes, it will be VERY hot - but being so light, it cools down fairly fast. And you can always spray it with water if you are in a hurry.BONUS: after three test burns, the inner part at the top, had turned into a beautiful blue/purple colour. Titanium does that. I just love this device! :-)FIVE STARS with ease!

Excellent light-weight burner for hiking/camping especially for quickly boiling water for dehydrated meals. Being titanium, I don't worry about it getting bent up or crushed in my pack. Testing this stove with the newer factory pot cross stand (higher above flame jets than the original version) I got 2 cups of room temperature water in the DZO 20 oz stainless cup/pot to a full boil in 4:55 and burnout in just under 10 mins with one once yellow HEET/methanol. Because the Evernew has an inner wick, full bloom takes only about 15 seconds as opposed to the clones on the market that take several minutes to bloom, lacking an inner wick. Some have criticized this Evernew as being a "fuel hog." If by that they mean it heats quickly & boils quickly than yes it is. But that does not mean it is inefficient. Using only 1/2 oz of yellow HEET I still got 2 cups to boil in 5:30 just before burnout in 6 mins. A 2-cup boil with only 1/2 oz fuel is a very efficient stove. I haven't been able to do that with any of my several homemade "supercat" stove designs. Testing the simmer mode (pot directly on top of stove) with 1 oz HEET, I got a full boil in 10:45 and a burnout in 23:52; slow enough that you should be able to cook say, bacon and eggs or fry a steak without burning them. In the Evernew Titanium I've found exactly what I need for the trail and I've stopped making and testing my own - I can't make one better.
