It does the job it was designed to perform. Ime well pleased with this tool.

I bought these dividers for leatherwork, I use them to mark out stitching lines on the edges of leather and for this, it works a treat.The dividers arrived well packaged and coated in a thick layer of oil to protect them from corrosion during their life in storage. After a quick wipe down with a kitchen towel they were ready for use.The dividers legs are made from a relatively thin material for their intended job, I tried them on some aluminium and yes they work fine but.... if you apply a lot of force then they can flex a little and throw out your accuracy hence the "light duty" in the description.Using the dividers is simple just turn the thumb wheel until they open/close to your exact distance, when opening them as some have said they can stick a little when new. This wasn't a major problem for me I just opened them with my fingers when they stuck and to be fair, as time went on this problem became less and less. When fully closed the legs were reasonably flush and the same was true when open so long as you don't apply excessive force and bend them.Bottom line.....These dividers work great for crafts and light use with metals, they are reasonably accurate for the price but may flex and throw out your measurement with excessive force. For precision engineering work in a commercial workshop you may want to invest a bit more money in a known brand.Would I recommend them? Yes! For the price they work great so long as you don't expect sub-millimetre accuracy.

Cheap, but do what you expect from them. Should last a long time with care.

As mentioned in previous reviews, the points are not sharp and I’ll need to sharpen them before use.The knurled knob on top had not been tightened. No big problem but you’d have thought that QC would have picked it up. Was thinking of returning them but that’s a pain in the ring. I wish I’d spent a bit more money for some better quality dividers.Edit: I tried to harden the tips by heating to red hot and plunging in oil but the steel they’ve used is of inferior quality and not capable of being hardened.

*it was covered with oil when I got it*it just the right size for bookbinding purposes and can't imaging to be without it*having it since 2019 still going strong*great quality*easy to adjust for precise measuring*would recommend
