I like that it was so cheap. It seemed to work right out of the packet with no messing around on my M4 iMac too. I knew I was buying a bare board so have no gripes there. The only inconvenience was that they opted for a USB type A plug rather than a suitable USB socket and finding the right lead was a slight nuisance.Surely a USB-C socket is the go nowadays, and I know it’s quite easy to implement if you’re not negotiating higher voltages etc, which they’re definitely not with the CH340 chip.Get it if you are after a low cost option and already have the right lead. The savings will disappear if you have to buy a cable as well.

I didn't try to use this for a few months after I bought it, but when I did, it didn't work. When I plugged it into a USB port, the blue power LED lights (far too bright!) and there is voltage on the 5V and 3.3V output pins, but the device isn't detected properly by the computer. Windows 11 gave a "the last USB device you plugged in has malfunctioned" error, while Linux was "unable to enumerate USB device" - neither system could identify the adapter module in order to install drivers.
