I am not a professional guitarist, but I have played on and off for decades. I have occasionally tried other brands of picks, some of them have gimmicks like odd shapes or surfaces, and I always come back to Fender brand. I know a number of professional guitarists and many seem to like heavy picks. I had always used medium, but someone left a heavy in my studio and I tried it and liked it. It takes a little adjusting, but I think it's a little more precise because it's more stiff. You can get a little more volume out of an acoustic with the heavy as well.It's just a pick, but they do make a difference and I have always found Fender to be consistent, reliable, and some of the best quality.
