We used this to protect a healed broken finger in the first few rugby and footbal games. Two finger tubes on the finger (see separate review) under this rugby glove, and it was good protection. Great for the price. Also good non-skid rugby glove for general use.

Fair quality, but mass produced so the stitching not perfect. hopefully they will last my son at least a season!

I bought these initially to help with my clumsy forward hands, that said, I don't really think they made a huge noticeable difference in my catching skills. I think most of the action of catching a ball lies on the finger tips, which by regulation can't be covered by a glove in rugby, so a grippy palm doesn't aid much. I didn't test them in a controlled environment, so I can't quite say if I am a better catcher with gloves or without. I have friends who swear by them, but some people will make fun of you for wearing gloves. Practice and diligence has been the best solution to my clumsy hands.That said, I LOVE these things when it is 40 degrees or even snowing, because at that point my handling skills go up 180% with these gloves on because it is that much harder to catch a ball with numb, rigid fingers. If you play in cold weather, these are a great item to have in your kit. I live in northern new york and our team hosts a tourney in march-april and we have had to play in snow. Trust me, numb fingers are not good for catching a ball and are also not great when trying to hold on to a player .Mine were a bit tight, so keep that in mind when ordering yours. I don't have large hands and found the small size was a bit tight for me (I always buy small gloves, and usually they fit properly)The material is a spandex type fabric that is light and lets you move your hands easily.The grip material I have noticed starts to break apart a bit after use, but that is expected,and for the price it is not a bad deal. (most of the grip is still there on my gloves 98% maybe , I just have noticed some come off and thought I should mention specially as I only wear them in the cold, so they aren't used every week)
