Simple to use, and produces good images with the fusion of thermal and normal image. It took a little while to set up the file transfer to be straightforward, but now that's done it's very easy to load images into the software (PC only, but works in a virtual machine on a Mac). I would like to feature to batch edit to synchronise temperature scales across different images, but it may be that I've not yet found how to do it. Overall it's nice little piece of kit, and with it's robust carry bag very easy to carry around.

I’ve had other low end standalone bolometers from (rhymes with) Leek and Slir. The “Slir” meter is OK, but very expensive for what you get. The “Leek” meter was compact but poor image quality and tedious menu operation. This HIKMICRO E03 bolometer surpasses both those other meters by leaps and bounds in image quality and features, and is significantly cheaper as well. Once you understand the menu, it’s quick to change settings on the fly. It seems like very good construction however I’ve only had it a few weeks so time will tell. Hopefully the rubbery coating doesn’t get sticky later. I recommend it and think it is very good value.Note: Some reviews said the touch screen didn’t work well. I find it works Ok. Not as good as a cell phone, but very acceptable for this device. When I unpacked it, there was a tiny blue tab on the side of screen which came off easily. The tiny tab wasn’t attached properly to the shipping screen protector, so after I removed the tab it’s was hard to tell there was still a screen protector still in place because the screen looked good and the touch still worked, although poorly.
