- Review for HOTUT Dad, I Want to Hear Your Story: A Father’s Guided Journal To Share His Life & His Love, Dad Journal Book for Recording Life, Leather Wrapped Hardback, Memory Book Save About Father's Love || Price: £6.99 (at time of ordering) -I love the idea of this, but it appears to be a knock off of a far more polished version by the same name. Essentially it's meant to help draw out the story of your fathers life through guided questions. These appear similar to the original, though maybe not written as eloquently, and I did come across a few spelling mistakes. The quality is fine for the price, but if the intention is for this to be a keepsake it's probably worth investing in something more durable. These pages are cheap paper and quite thin, and the formatting/style leaves something to be desired.Personally I think you're better off going with the proper version, if someone is willing to go to all that effort to fill it out.

For me this A5 note book was a chance to get a new recipe book. Since altering my lifestyle and diet to combat type 2 diabetes I have been collecting suitable recipes by the hundred and am now on my third book..Secondary i was intrigued to find out what a "Guided Journal" was. Did it mean that there were prompts contained in it's pages which would stimulate particular types of entries ? I just didn't have any real clue and the listing was not very informative. Nor was it informative about how many pages the book contained. I consider that to be a major omission. There were in fact a series of questions, about the father's life, written on various pages in the book and there were 152 pages. For my use the pages with print on are a waste as I will not be using the book in the intended way but I can see why some may like to. It could give some interesting insight into the person who fills it in.There is a ribbon marker to allow for easy retrieval of a given page. The book came with a pen and that does write well on the paper, with no bleed through of ink. What is not present though is a pen retaining loop so that the pen can be easily carried with the journal. The hard cover is swathed in a plastic material which is easy to sponge clean if necessary and should keep the notebook looking smart.Value wise I feel that £6.99 for a 152 page A5 notebook with a good quality hardback cover and an accompanying pen is a decent deal.
