I think this is fine for a value bottom bracket. It has a pair of 6805RS sealed bearings in alloy housings with a sealed plastic body centre spacer.Fitment is good, and finish looks decent enough although the black coating on the alloy isn't the most durable.The only real negative I've had is that the outer plastic caps that cover the bearings have no weather sealing, so although the bearings themselves do have an outer dust seal I can see water and mud getting crammed in here over time, certainly in the environment I'm using my bike in. To be safe I packed both the bearings and the crevice behind the plastic cap with grease to make my own water seal. Seems to be doing the job great.

Bei 73 mm lässt man die Ringe weg.Das Produkt verfügt über leicht laufende, gedichtete Industrielager. Es ist vorbildlich gearbeitet und sauber beschriftet. Somit ist der Einbau kein Problem.Über die Langzeithaltbarkeit kann ich noch keine Aussage treffen.Bisher macht das Innenlager aber den allerbesten Eindruck.Der Preis ist absolut in Ordnung

Das günstigste von Shimano liegt preislich hier knapp drüber, qualitativ ist das BSA Lager hier mindestens auf Augenhöhe. Houston scheint hier nur als eine Art Vertriebler zu fungieren; das Lager bekommt man bei Amazon auch unter anderen Namen oder halt unter BSA. In jedem Fall aber mindestens einen Euro teurer, und sofern scheint das hier aktuell der beste Deal zu sein. Materialanmutung und Verarbeitungsqualität wirken aber deutlich besser als der Preis vermuten lässt. Auch die Laufeigenschaften zeigen sich auf den ersten Kilometern geschmeidig und solide. Auch Tretlager sind Verschleißteile und wahrscheinlich wird dieser sich hier deutlich früher einstellen als bei einem 3-, 4- oder gar 10-Fach so teuren Lager. Aber für‘s Alltagseselchen erachte ich das als durchaus ausreichend!4/5

Easily fitted, appears to work well, good value.

For £10 (June 24) this is good value for a sealed bearing threaded BB, but the review and score is based entirely on this being a budget option. If this was around the normal £20-50 these things cost for quality branded ones, it would 2 stars, becuase it is fine, but not great.This would be ideal for doing up a bike to sell on or one thats used lightly.Its for 24mm Axles both ends, so Shimano, and NOT SRAM GXP.It came just in a plastic bag, that was not sealed (I suspect it was just tucked into the BB at the open end, but had opened in the shipping packing) so one cup and spacer were loose in the packaging.One side the bearing was smooth, the other very very slightly less so. Both have sealed bearings, with slightly stiff seals, but they are standard in that the outer edge is in a groove and the inner a contact seal, but the seal had basic lips so will help retain grease and keep dirt out, but not overly so.On the note of grease, removing the plastic liner and popping the seal off revealed that these was a very low fill of grease - there was very little indeed. So in this form they would not last very long at all as water and dirt would get in. The grease was also quite lightweight and lower quality. I was able to add quality grease to fill the bearing.The seal is also just on the oter side, though this is not uncommon in lower cost BB's The inner is much less susseptible to any ingress, though its good to have to keep grease in.The centre tube had 2 o-rings, but they were not that tight a fit in the cups, though good enough.The bearings themselves are clearly lower quality ABEC balls and races, but again fine at this price.The cups seem well machined and made, but the plastic spacers were a bit poorly moulded.There were not fitting instruction, especially with regard to the spacers, but you can copy what was on the bike to start. The left and right sides were labled however - essential as one is reverse thread.Overall, for £10, not too bad IF you are able to add suitable bike bearing grease to the bearings. If you can, possibly look elsewhere.
