I like the look of this sliding door track. I didn’t fancy having a barn style track and this is exactly what I was looking for. Slides well and easy to fit.

I've never really set up or installed anything like this before in my home, but I found this surprisingly easier than I expected to put in place - I now have a proper sliding door and it works like a dream! Just what I wanted in my home. It slides smoothly along the rail, and the whole thing feels well-made and of good quality. I definitely recommend!

This excellent sliding door kit arrives in a big and very heavy easy to recycle cardboard box. It's heavy because this kit contains some large chunks of aluminium alloy. Parts which also come with the fittings needed to install one sliding door across the width of most UK door frames.Well not quite everything, you will need to supply your own door, but that's normal for this type of self install kit. If that's a premade door, often cheaper and easier than making your own, then you'll also find installing this set isn't that difficult.It can also be useful to watch a few youtube video before you start installation. That's because these videos can be very useful for providing tips and advice. Though when you do start you could find it's only slightly more tricky more than building a flat pack.The core difference is you'll need a few more tools than you would when building a flat pack wardrobe.Tools such as a very long spirit level, a router if you want to have recessed handles and a decent drill capable of drilling holes in masonry. Note the latter there, that's because this type of kit is bested suited for solid walls such as brick or concrete.While, with a lot of care and extra materials, these can be fitted to plasterboard based walls. Walls such as studwall, drywall or partition walls. But it's not recommended because plasterboard doesn't handle weight very well.Indeed, to fit it safely to a plasterboard based wall, you'd need to build additional internal supports directly into the wall. A job that's both messy, complicated and expensive. It can also be possible to fit these kits to dot & dab wall, however you'd need to ensure you used longer fittings. Way longer than the ones included in this kit, plus you'd need to accept D&D walls are more prone to damage.Though, wherever you hang this kit, you'll find it's got decent well made parts, good instructions and a very reasonable price.

We've only just had the chance to hand a door with this kit and I have to say it was a lot less complicated than I thought it was going to be. I'm not a DIY'er as such and with a decent drill I was able to get it mounted.The package it comes in is pretty weighty but easy to understand. I would definitely recommend two people minimum and a decent sized spirit level.The door works well and it's the perfect solution for a room where you are limited on space for a door to open in the traditional manner. A recommendation from me.
