These backdrops will help amateurs take photos of their small products to market them online, or to create printable brochures. Although this inexpensive kit is mostly targeted for amateurs, its quality is rather good considering its low selling price.

Social media is full of ads for backdrop setups similar to this one, where you buy the backdrop halves individually for $75 each. While this set is a much smaller version, scaled down in quality from the expensive versions, it's quite useful and I've already successfully shot several product photos using it. These backgrounds are printed on a tough type of paper that you slide in at the bottom, clip at the top. The choices seem a bit dated, but I tried the marble ones for some girly type items and the photos came out looking realistic and upscale.Some notes: this kit is not huge, so it's best suited to items around 7" in height or less. I did try photographing a stack of plates with it and made it work, but I had to use Generative Fill in Photoshop to complete areas around the edges. Not all the backgrounds look useful to me, they feel like something from the 1990s or early 2000s. And I'd be careful about using them with something wet. I'm not certain if they're waterproof, and haven't wanted to test this for fear of ruining one of the options.If you're broke and can't afford 75 bucks for a square of something printed with a brick wall, I suggest giving this kit a try. At the very least, it's a good starting place for any beginner to online product photography.

This is a review of the Small Product Photography Photo Backdrops Board Kit. I take photos of the jewelry I design and make and needed something portable for when I travel. This fit the bill. I like that it has different colored backdrops so I can find the perfect one. It is easy to setup and use. It is only suitable for very small items and why I deducted a star.
