Habe ich gekauft, weil ich selber Wasabi angepflanzt habe. Aber auch andere feste Pflanzen lassensich sehr gut darauf reiben. Nächstesmal würde ich allerdings die größere Version kaufen.

Works well if you need to make a ginger or garlic paste. If garlic cloves are too small, it will be tricky to use them up without risking your fingers though, but for decently sized ones it is perfect. Can be cleaned by simply putting under running hot water - much easier than a garlic press.

As expected from a Japanese product, this grater is aesthetically pleasing, well designed (the silicon base makes it very stable on the worktop) and does the job well. It is also very easy to clean if rinsed (and, depending on what was grated, brushed) immediately after use. I have so far used it on ginger, parmesan and nutmeg, which all work fine. If anything, the parmesan comes out slightly more compacted compared to shaving it with a microplane grater because of the pressure involved (the parmesan is grated and then swept into the "moat" with the next circular movement) - but it works very well for my purposes. The trick of letting the boiling water trickle over the grater to flush out the ginger directly into the tea pot when making ginger tea is genius - I haven't tried someone else's trick of spreading cling film over the grater before grating garlic in order to make it easier to gather the garlic pulp, but it sounds sensible. The teeth of the grater are sharp, but definitely less of a risk to one's fingertips than your ordinary microplane grater.I am looking forward to using this for its intended purpose, grating daikon, and also to grating fruit and vegetables for baby food.Great product!

Es uno de mis productos favoritos, muy útil para rayar ajo y muy practico a la hora de cocinar, lo recomiendo.

This is THE perfect grater for ginger if you want to avoid ending up with clumps of shredded ginger that most graters produce. And the 3.5" size is ideal (grater portion is 1.75") for ginger root. If you're going to grate something that's larger than ginger root, the next size up is probably better. (Don't order the cheap version from a different manufacturer/seller that sort of looks like this one - mine came broken in half and was a piece of junk.) This one is happy going through the dishwasher (top rack) and has a silicon base that prevents it from slipping on countertops.
