Installing the LCL Brother HL-3140CW Compatible Drum Unit is a straightforward task, and went without a hitch. The quality of the replacement unit is on par with that made by Brother. You will require separate drum units for each toner in your machine, but considering the colossal discount LDL's pattern parts are to Brother's original parts, this route will keep cost way down.I used the following procedure to replace the yellow toner drum unit and reset its counter on the Brother HL-3140CW:-- Turn on the machine.- Open the top cover.- Remove the toner cartridge and drum unit for the indicated colour on the screen.- Separate the toner cartridge from the drum unit.- Install the new drum unit and lock the toner cartridge in place.- Clean the corona wire inside the drum unit as instructed.- Insert the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly.- Close the top cover of the machine.Then reset the drum counter:-- Hold down the Go button and press the Up arrow key on the control panel.- Select "Drum Unit" using the arrow keys and press OK.- Choose the replaced drum's colour and press OK.- Use the Up arrow key to select "Reset" and press OK to reset the drum counter.Once the new drum unit was installed, I used the Drum Dot Print function on the printer to produce a printed sheet to check for spots and marks. Note from the photo of the printed sheet that there are no spots or marks resulting from the installation of the new drum unit for the yellow toner.LCL Brother Compatible Drum Unit made it easy to replace the drum unit in my printer and the results from it are as you would expect from a new drum, superb!
