Comfortable, hefty, precision engineered

While the stock portafilter for the Rancilio Silvia is top notch, having a bottomless portafilter is pretty lifechanging for making espresso, both in a good and bad way. I paired this bottomless portafilter from MacMaxe with the 18g Rancilio Redesigned Portafilter Basket (40-100-108) and it elevated my espresso game considerably. Having a bottomless portafilter shows you every single mistake you make in your brewing process, especially when you get channeling. It's one of the best feedback mechanisms I've found to better dial in my workflow and to make truly amazing espresso, day after day. I'd argue that adding the redesigned basket to this bottomless portafilter, makes it a lot easier to make third wave level espresso from a home machine. It's beyond impressive for the money.

This is probably the best accessory you can buy if you have a Rancilio Pro X. The double-spouted portafilter that comes with the machine is so frustrating to use because after you use it, the water just keeps on dripping plus it's very heavy. I do wish that companies just include a bottomless portafilter because home baristas prefer a bottomless portafilter. The price of the machine itself is already out of my budget so getting accessories like this should just come with the machine.
