Last month I managed to find myself in a bit of a pickle when I was out on my e-bike and forgot to put my torque arms back on. This allowed the axle to come out of the dropouts and spin freely destroying my hub motors wiring completely.Although this cable is made to go from the controller to the hub motor cable connector, I instead cut off the end so that I could push the cable into the hub motor and wire it in where my old one was once connected. Is has both the hall sensor wires and phase wiring inside so will do the majority of hub motors.The phase wires are however pretty thin so I wouldn’t recommend trying to push too much current through it; 1000w for short periods of time is fine but no more than this and I wouldn’t do more than 750w constant.Soldering this into a hub isn’t too difficult and doesn’t require much electrical experience - if you can open up a motor and know how to solder wires, you’re set.One thing to note, though… it’s possible that an axle spinning can cause the hall sensor to be damaged and require replacing. It’s a good idea to have a spare board just in case as they only cost a few pounds.
