A great value micrometer stand.What do you need from a micrometer stand?It must be secure in its clamping, have a way of adjusting the viewing angle, and most importantly, be of sufficient weight, so that it doesn't easily move.This stand fills all of the above criteria.It's made from cast iron, and weighs in at 850g. It does feel substantial.It's finished in a green 'Hammerite' style paint.It has 2 knobs for adjustment. One to clamp the micrometer, and the other to alter the viewing angle.Both work well, and can be fully tightened. The threads on mine were both smooth.In use the micrometer feels very solid and securely held.The metal clamping jaws have rubber pads attached.Overall, I think this is a great stand. Yes, there are a few paint chips and everything isn't quite as spick and span as some, but at less than half the price of many of the stands by well known makes, it's a steal.I can't fault its functionality.I hope you found this review helpful.
