I needed a boot drive for my Raspberry Pi 5 that was at least 100GB so I took the smallest. Not only is it fully compatible, the power draw is nice and low, it doesn't get too warm and it hits the speed I was hoping for. Really was a bargain.

Een goed functionerende externe ssd, waar de 2 TB dropbox prima op past.Wordt niet warm, is snel met data overbrengen, ik hoop dat hij lang mee gaat!

All looks cool from the box and the thing is super slim and light weight. It works great at start with 455 MB/s read and 430 MB/s write speeds via the supplied USB-C cable. However I gave this only 1 ⭐️ because after using it for 3 days and reaching 50% of its storage capacity I noticed the write-speed dropped under 90 MB/s and sometimes was as low as 50 MB/s, that's basically as slow as the old USB 2.0 spinning hard disks used to be. I think it's due to some built-in temperature threshold. Because after a while the thing gets hot, later the speed went up, but then 5 minutes later it was down again. Thus not usable for large video project backup's where lost back up time turns into lost production time.UPDATE: a few weeks later I decided, if this Z-Slim drive is not good for fast back-up of large chunks of data, it should still serve as slower USB drive for my older computer. (but NOPE) If it's connected to a 10 years old MacBook Pro connected to USB-A with the supplied cable that's supposed to support USB 3.0, then it does once in a while do random disconnects with the typical on screen warning "Disk Not Ejected Properly". This random fault makes a full backup take several days, because it fails after some random 10 minutes to maybe an hour. The backup routine then has aborted the process with an error and I can only find out the next day it hasn't completed the first backup. Interesting fact, it does not do random disconnects when I am using my own separately bought USB-C to C cable on a 2021 iMac 🤔 So is it just the cable or is this related to the Netac Z-Slim internal hardware?CONCLUSION: If you don't need to transfer huge amounts of data at once that, amounts of 150 GB+ would exceed 10 minutes of transfer time, you will probably never reach the high temperature issue. Also if you use a modern computer and can use your own high-end usb cables, then this thing might be the best price vs storage capacity for you. But it' not case for me, so I returned it for reimbursement and decided to pay €30 more for a similar thing from a different known brand. (Hoping this will not have some other issues).

Wordt onder Windows direct herkend, onder Linux echter niet. Heb via partitie manager (AOMEI) een partitie aangemaakt. Hierna werd de schijf gemount.

As soon as you open the packaging, you cant tell that a company cares about their product & customer. The item was wrapped, they included an adaptor (type C - type A) incase you can’t use the included cord (type C - type C) & a carrying + storage bag to protect the item. I have bought big name brand portable hard drives & they do not come with extra pieces. Usually you toss it in your bag & the female end on the drive gets damaged or the male of the cord gets damaged. This company cares about its products & their users. Will definetly buy more of their products, especially the hard drives.

El material se siente de buena calidad. el tamaño es muy cómodo. la velocidad difícil de valorar, pero definitivamente más rápida que otras memorias. El cable viene con micro usb y adaptador para usb c.

Excellent value for money. For the price you pay you get an absolute speedy small SSD. The SSD itself comes with a leather pouch, USB-C to USB-A adapter and a 30CM USB A to USB C data cable. The drive is small, thin and light weight (Think of a Milky Way bar!). I tested this drive on my PC and the speeds given match what has been said in description.I am lucky to to have a motherboard which has a USB 3.2. Gen 2 USB A&C ports at the back. On the front PC case (NZXT H510) I have a USB-C port and USB A port, unfortunately the motherboard does not have a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Front header, so the speeds here are only at 5Gbps (USB 3.1 Gen 1).The first image with speeds at 458 is the front IO ports, this is a decent speed with quick transfers even though it is not at is maximum speed. This was tested at 1 GiB.The second image with the speeds at 509 was tested on the USB 3.2 Gen 2 port 1GiB, as you can see the speeds have increased quite a bit both read and write, with surprisingly writes being slightly faster (but we could probably ignore this was this was only 1 test)The third image shows tests using 16GIB and the speeds are still fast on the Gen 2 port at over 500MB/sThe fourth image this time using 10 16 MiB data and the drive speeds increase to it's advertised 550 MB/S impressive! The 5th image shows copying files from a Kingston USB data traveller (128GB) to the SSD 11GB of data (ISO files of Linux OS) this took around 60 seconds and stayed at a consistent speed of 200MB/S very good! The 6th images shows copying from the SSD to my internal NVME (Downloads folder) again 11GB of data and this was being written at 460MB/s (My internal drive reaches reads/writes at around 2GB second). The 7th image shows copying the same files 11GB of data from my desktop PC to the SSD this was being done at speeds of 387MB/s these are very good speeds for a small drive.Lastly, the last image shown at speeds of 44MB/s this occurred when using a USB 3.0 cable so be warned you need a good quality reliable USB 3.2. Gen 2 cable to get the maximum speeds, the speeds may also be affected by external USB Hubs/Docks.---------------------------------LINUX TESTS---------------------------------I briefly tested this on Kali Linux copying the same files (no images) I was getting speeds of 360MB/s writes copying from laptop to SSD. (The laptop has an NVME at 2GB/s speed) This was with the drive at around 200GB capacity.Once I cleared this and started at 232GB (The actual disk space useable) I first initially got 700 MB/s for smaller 2GB files and then the speed dropped down to 400/500MB/s writing files to SSD from laptop. This is still very good speed, it took 20 seconds copying those files compared to 10 minutes when I copy from my USB Stick!Overall the price/value ratio is excellent the speed on the drive means I know longer need to wait 10 minutes for files to copy. One of the reasons I purchased this was because of the slow file transfers of USB sticks (looking at you Kingston!), this solves that problem and I can quickly get back to work. The drive is small enough to fit a pocket back. There are no negatives about this, personally I didn't need the leather pouch think it's just additional waste and not environment friendly, but this is a minor personal issue.
