I required this type of metal brush along with the tough bristle brush to clean files. Works great. I am using it with small size files for precision work. This brush removes the debris caught inside of the file serrations. It was designed to work with larger files but works well with the small ones. The bristle brush also works very well.I found the overall quality to be excellent. It does the job the way I expected. For handling and keeping a grip on the handle, it fits my hands very well. What I also like is it is marked, "USA" on it. Not many of these types of products are still made in North America or Europe.If you need a good quality file cleaner with a metal type brush and a rear side bristle brush, I would recommend this one.

This is an excellent tool to clean wood and metal files. A bit pricey but well made and easy to use.

I was bequeathed a pile of rusted out files, and mostly restored them back to functional with a soak in some white vinegar and this file card. After cleaning about a dozen heavily corroded files, this doesn't look any worse for wear.Now it doesn't do magic -- I think one of my rusty files had been used as a paint stirrer, and the wire side of the brush couldn't get that out. But it made easy work out of any loose rust or wood clogs on files from fine metal files to wood rasps.Definitely would recommend if you have some files to maintain.

A quality tool with a large, solid wood handle and good bristle brush and file comb faces. Highly recommended.
