I just received this pen, and it’s the 3rd one I’ve purchased. It’s a wonderful deep burgundy so in the right light it’s a deep hue however in not so great lighting it can be mistaken for black. The ink from the factory is black so it’s usable in any environment from the box. I like to change the ink to the gel version of black or blue, but typically blue. It adds a difference to the pen, adds a little flair.It’s value is in the construction of the pen as it’s sturdy and look like it will last a few good years with normal wear and tear. I am also happy with the weight of the pen which is a pleasant not to heavy for taking notes over a long period of time. The overall impression of this pen is a great pen that is versatile in any setting and will withstand any issues or environments. I just wish it was a bit cheaper as in the end it is a Parker and the price is a bit much for the pen, but worth the price to get the true value of a Parker pen as this model is reminiscent of the original Parker Jotter, the new are nowhere near like their predecessors.
