My spade had lost its handle a while back and the top of the wood had expanded a bit because of getting wet. Easy to just chisel away enough to fit the handle over the top and then hammer it down to make it a good tight fit. The hole for the pin is front-on rather than side-on, but I just measured the gauge of the old pin and then drilled through the handle and the wood and it's a good tight fit.After a good sharpening it's ready to get to work again! Great buy and such good value!
