I've tried many different brands of these spindles, several points of failure, but this particular model seems to last a little longer than the others and aren't overpriced for a part designed to fail. I like the fact that I can grease the bearings. I have same problems with all of them. The shoulders where they attach to the cutting deck break, I've had to re-enforce the deck because the steel was so thin stress tore through it. I've also gone to drilling out the holes and using grade 8 bolts,flat washers top and bottom, and lock washers to keep the nuts from getting loose. Now when the shoulders crack at least the spindle keeps working and don't raise up, the bolts and washers keep them in place even if they break. I haven't found a solution for the pulley breaking. They make these where you can't just rebuild, you have buy entire new assembly regardless of the point of failure.
