In de 18e eeuw hebben ze dat al bewezen tijdens races op de kwart mijl, waarbij ze zelfs Engelse volbloedpaarden vaak te snel af waren. Aan deze wedstrijden hebben de quarter horses ook hun naam te danken.

Muy buena figura. Bonitos colores, buen material y pintura excelente. Pesa, está equilibrado y posee colores vivos y bien definidos. No se rompe con facilidad. Además, se parece a Spirit, un caballo de una serie infantil.
