It’s always satisfying when a product is s good as advertised!After watching recent YouTube reviews on the Albert Radial it was clear that everyone is raving about its new, game-changing technology. Either massive hype, or the truth, but if a radial was THAT good then it sounded like its performance would be felt instantly.Just the rear tire of my Trek Rail eMtb needed replacement, so I left the original Maxxis 29x2.5 on the front and went with the Albert 29x2.6 since apparently Schwalbe runs on a smaller with than advertised.I chose a 20 mile first test with over 3,500’ vertical, a combination of loose rocks and sand, flowing descents, tight switchbacks uphill and down, in the dry conditions of San Diego (Daley Ranch).I can happily report that this new radial design is 100% the real thing. Climbs that on my Maxxis would usually spin out never experienced a slip. Loose downhill surfaces never fazed it, and rock gardens were more surefooted with noticeably less bounce. Schwalbe advertises 30% greater footprint and what translated to me is that the difference in way it just rolls over obstacles is like night and day.Replacing your next tire with Schwalbe’s new radial technology will not leave you disappointed. The slightly extra cost will make your current bike outperform any of its prior capabilities. Be prepared to be amazed. The Schwalbe Albert Radial is the real deal folks.The ‘Shredda’ model has a more aggressive tread for winter climate and wetter locations, but for SoCal it’s Albert all the way!Looking forward to wearing out my front Maxxis as soon as possible now!
